It’s time to stop spinning out of control.

It’s time to feel confident, happy, and whole.

Meet Tova Lane, PsyD

Psychologist in Tel Aviv

It’s time…

You want to feel confident, whole, and happy. You want to feel that you have your life under control, that you are thriving at home and at work. The anxiety and depression, fear, and self doubt no longer overwhelm you.

If you are someone who appreciates a clear, strategic approach to therapy, you’ve come to the right place. I integrate cutting edge neuroscience-based research on emotions and lasting change to guide our therapy. Everything I do is focused on bringing lasting change into your life. I will explain to you throughout our work what we are doing and why we are doing it. Therapy with me is a partnership, with you bringing the expertise on yourself and me bringing the psychological knowledge to guide you through the process.

My Approach

Therapy is about making sense of life. It’s about giving words to feelings, bridging emotions and facts.

Therapy with me is about being down to earth. About making room for all feelings in a relaxed and concrete way.

Therapy enters the world of emotions, which might not be a very comfortable place to go for you. You are someone who bases most of your life on facts. You are about data, you are about progress. So this might feel uncomfortable at first.

I’m also someone who enjoys thinking about the world logically, based on facts and principles and concrete data. I know that emotions, both within ourselves and interpersonally, can be intangible and confusing to navigate. The power of therapy is learning to traverse this emotional reality in a way that leads to lasting change.

What I do in therapy with my clients is teach you to traverse your emotional world in a way that allows it to be a guiding force in your life. Your emotions are powerful information sensors about your interpersonal world. Just as you use your 5 senses to navigate the physical world around you, emotions are the tools we use to navigate our interpersonal world. Being an integrated and happy human involves building skill at using your feelings to guide you in life (as opposed to them taking over, or leaving you hurt and confused). Therapy with me is about helping make emotions more tangible, less overwhelming, and beneficial to you in building a confident, happy life.

I’ve trained extensively in cutting edge emotional research. I have developed a collaborative model for therapy work, touching on how all areas of our life impact how we experience today. In therapy I will teach you tools and techniques in navigating your feelings, your thoughts, and your behavior. As you can see in my trainings below, I’ve trained in cognitive approaches, emotional and somatic work, as well as couples therapy to help you with navigating the interpersonal relationships in your life.

Treatment Approach

What my clients tell me

My clients tell me that they understand their feelings better through our work together. They tell me that things start to make more sense. Talking with me helps them put into words whats circling around their minds. For programmers reading this, I’ve been described as a “rubber duck therapist” - the rubber duck you put on your desk and talk out loud to as you formulate and get clarity on what’s going on. Therapy gives clients a lot more than space to talk, but that’s remained one of my favorite ways to describe what I do.

Clients leave therapy feeling clearer about themselves, calmer about life, and more compassionate toward their pain.

Interactive. We’ll both be talking. I’ll definitely ask you a lot of questions such as what you think about what is happening or what the experience sounds like in your mind. But it will feel like those deep conversations you might have with a close friend over a coffee or beer. Real. Honest. Mutually thoughtful and engaging.

Therapy with me won’t be…

Awkward. That silent staring at a therapist looking back at you and asking “so how does that make you feel”?

Therapy with me is…

Dynamic and personalized. Within the framework of evidence based therapies, we have a lot of approaches to choose from. My skill is at integrating different approaches so we create the blend that works best to help you see lasting change.

Formulaic & structured.

I consider laughter to be a necessary part of therapy. Therapy is a space for painful feelings, for sadness or shame that have no other space in the world. And at the same time, my clients have a good time in therapy. Playfulness and humor are an essential part of my work.

Heavy.

I believe that being real and genuine is the first step. Our emotions happen in the context of the practical realities of life. Talking about the past and “deep emotions” is incredibly helpful for creating lasting change. However, I strongly believe that in order for that to be effective, it must be grounded in the practical realities of life.

Clinical & removed from life.

You have come to therapy with a goal in mind. At the start of therapy I will create with you a clear plan of action. We will set a time structure for our work and check in on a regular basis to ensure that therapy is productive and helpful to you.

Unstructured & unending.

Is this sounding right for you?
